gamescom 2015: FIFA 16 Lets You Turn Your Team Into Soccer Heroes

This week’s gamescom 2015 conference in Cologne Germany has brought with it a new FIFA 16 trailer, celebrating the newest season of EA Sports’ grand football (or, as it’s commonly called over on our side of the pond, “soccer”) simulator. The trailer is short, it’s sweet, and it should get you plenty hyped for FIFA 16’s September 22 launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

EA Sports has also detailed FIFA 16’s new FUT Draft mode, which is a new way to play FIFA Ultimate Team. FUT Draft puts your team-building aptitude to the test, challenging you to draft a team and reign supreme over your opponents, in a series of up to four matches. You’ll pick formations, select a team captain, build out a full 23-man squad, and play to win. The further you progress, the better your rewards. For more info, check out the full rundown on FUT Draft mode at EA Sports’ official FIFA blog.

And remember: Those of you who are in Europe and just getting into the next-gen game can pre-order the Xbox One EA Sports FIFA 16 Bundle for just €369 / £319 (pricing varies by region), which also lets you play FIFA 16 early starting on September 17 thanks to a one-year EA Access subscription. Or, if you’ve already got an Xbox One but want to hit the pitch early, be sure to sign up for EA Access now to start playing five days early. We’ll be taking a closer look at FIFA 16 in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Are you ready for some football?!?
